I'm obsessed with glass, especially the old-time colors that no one produces any more. Many modern seed beads are dyed or coated, but I adore the true colors that are created within the glass itself. These seed beads were manufactured between the late 1800s and 1920.


:Each piece is handmade by me in my Portland studio. Every lampwork glass bead starts out with individual glass rods which are melted and wound. The bead is then picked, struck, annealed, cleaned, etched, and polished. The silver frames are hand-shaped, hammered, punched, and oxidized. All stitched pieces are made order with a needle and sturdy waterproof thread, one bead at a time. All metal is sterling or fine silver, unless otherwise noted.:
