Collectible ornate picture frame is made of tin based alloy which was a very popular material for picture frames at the time of Jugendstil, around 1900 (German counterpart of Art Nouveau). This popularity is order due to the fact that tin and tin based alloys are particularly suitable for the curved Art Nouveau shapes
