Scisys Rapier Rare Electronic Chess order Computer

Scisys Rapier (1984). Travel computer manufactured by Scisys (Hong Kong) in 1984. In just a few years, since its separation from Novag (1979), Scisys had established itself as the world's leading manufacturer of chess computers, developing more than 50 different models in the period from the time it began manufacturing solo (1980), until it claimed its manufacture in its subsidiary "Saitek" in 1986 (that year order it went on to sell more than 100,000 units). The Scisys Rapier (1984) was one of those computers, but with one peculiarity: its small size of just 7.5x8.5 cm. It was sold with an external board that had a side compartment in which it snapped. There was no connection, between the board and the computer, so it could be carried and used separately (in that case, the computer comfortably entered a pocket). The Rapier was totally car enough. It had an LCD display indicating the position of the figures by coordinates, a keyboard with multifunction keys and a small motherboard that included a permanent power supply (a button battery). The small, optimized motherboard featured an all-in-one IC that integrated a processor, a RAM (with enough capacity to record games started on a journey and finish them at home) and a large ROM that stored a chess program with eight levels of gameplay.
