SALE- order Chinese Brass Metal Inkstone Ink Box w/ Relief Characters, Calligraphy Sumi-e Scholar's Studio Object Item Four Treasures, PROC Era

For sale is an interesting antique Chinese brass box with characters in low relief. The underside of the lid is fitted with a piece of slate, that could have been used as an inkstone for grinding ink (used in calligraphy or sumi-e). The box has been polished in its lifetime- a better idea of the patina is found on the inside of the box. This item was probably made post-1949, or in the People's Republic of China period. It's nicely made, and in good condition. Perfect for a practitioner of calligraphy- one could use it to transport ink cakes, and also use the stone underneath the lid to grind ink, and then store excess ink, covered and protected from dust.
