ABOUT THIS PIECE: Living in the Pacific Northwest influences much of my work - this piece is all about hiking and enjoying the outdoors. I chose a gentle combination of wool and cotton yarns - the bright fresh-grass green stands out against the muted whites and an array of blues, yellows and browns. It seemed appropriate for this piece to include a beautiful raw cut piece of hard wood accentuating a typical Northwest landscape.

The overall size (including the organic hard wood that the weaving is hanging from and the bottom fringe) is: 18 inches X 19.5 inches wide

ABOUT ME: I've been a fine art weaver for over forty years. I primarily weave on a frame loom that I designed and built myself. My work is, "Fiber Painting" because each piece I weave is done similarly to how I imagine a painter would paint on a canvas. In addition to weaving in my studio, I teach textile art order and woodworking to students of all ages up and down the West Coast of the United States.
