Order Swine Bone Devil FACE JUG by Joel Patton, 2020

Here's a handmade face order jug!

I turned the jug on the wheel, then added the features. The left horn was a pork bone and the left horn was sculpted to match. Alas, the bone was no match for the heat of the kiln. The stub that's left may well chip further... it's pretty fragile.

The face color comes from a regional clay, and the dapples and top glaze is made with ash from my workshop woodstove.

Despite the horn situation, the piece is glazed with food-safe glazes, so you can fill it with moonshine or BBQ sauce.

It stands around 5 inches tall.
