Longfellow's Poetical Works (1859) Beautiful Green order & Gold Antique Victorian Illustrated Antique Book

A rare and highly decorative edition of Poems by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. New and Complete Edition, Illustrated and published in 1859 by William P. Nimmo

Beautifully bound with a green buckram, with detailed stamp and gilt inlay to boards and spine, and well as full gilt page edges. White end papers with the front end paper and fly page missing. Black and white Illustration plates to frontispiece and title pages, as well as several other wood cut illustration plates throughout the text block. Pages are in good reading order, foxing throughout the pages. Section of pages are pulled but still attached. Small damp stain to edges of rear pages.

Rubbing and light chipping wear to corners and edges of boards and spine. Gilt remains fairly bright on boards but some sunning wear present to spine and scratching to page edges. Binding a little sloppy but holding order well. This beautiful volume is very rare and would look great in any collection!
