The highly aesthetic, beautiful cluster of lustrous black (a very deep golden root beer that shows as black) cassiterite crystals is on a bed of sparkling gold Muscovite/ mica in bladed floral formations. Cassiterite is a metallic tin oxide mineral that's generally opaque, but can be translucent in the edges of high grade crystals like this piece. This high quality, collector's specimen is incredibly glassy and produces an amber gold glow on the edges when backlit.
