Celtic La order Tene Iron Tethered Axe, 450 BC to 400AD time frame

An authentic Celtic iron tettered Axe from the Iron Age La Tene Culture of Central Europe and ancient Noricum. This axe was found in modern day Germany, and is totally authentic and unrestored. It is during this period that the implements transitioned from being cast to being hammered, as can readily be seen here in this wonderful specimen. In the earlier Hallstatt implements and weapons copied the earlier bronze order age forms, now they are totally innovative. Prior to affiliation and eventual subjugation to Rome the Celts controlled nearly all of Europe. This classic example measures nearly 7 inches, and the blade is nearly 1 1/2 inches wide.
