Multiple plate color abstract polymer etching.

The abstract design, created digitally, is based on a monotype created a few years ago. Four color-separated transparencies were created (cyan, magenta, yellow and black, CMYK process colors) and each etched into a polymer plate. Process color inks were mixed with a transparent base. The plates were printed on Rives BFK paper 2-3 days apart to allow for adequate drying time. The black plate was omitted, it just didn't add anything to the print.

I was fortunate enough to hike the Napali Cliffs on the north coast of Kauai a few years ago. Walking up side canyons with streams and dodging ripe passion fruit falling from trees were a great way to spend the day. order
