This is a rice bowl with a beautiful auspicious design in light blue by Shoho Itoh of Shoho Kiln, Kiyomizu-yaki ware of Kyoto ware.
It is a lovely size of about 10cm in diameter, which is smaller than usual.


The light blue color of the lustrous toe. The pattern of the flower.
There are many colors on the flowers drawn by the Ichin technique.

The inside is also abstracted with light Gosu.
Underglaze and overglaze painting. It is a high quality rice bowl that is typical of Kiyomizu ware that went back and forth in the kiln many times.

Shomine Itoh, Shomine Kiln

Studied under his predecessor, Shoho.
In 1989, succeeded to the kiln. He order mainly works with porcelain.
Mainly works with porcelain, and produces a wide range of vessels with a delicate taste. He always pursues new and original techniques.
His softly colored kotoji is especially popular.

Born in Kyoto City in 1959.
Won a prize at Kyoto Traditional Industrial Technician Exhibition in 1989.
1994 Held a solo exhibition in Paris
1995 Demonstrated and taught pottery making and painting in Australia.
Certified as a traditional craftsman in 1999
2006 Awarded the Mayor of Kyoto Prize at the Blue Kiln Society
