Set of Three Antique Sarreguemines Grapes and Leaves Green order Majolica Plates

Set of three antique Sarreguemines grapes and leaves green majolica plates. The Sarreguemines factory in France began making this pattern in 1840. The dessert sized plates are in a deep monochrome green majolica glaze. Each plate has a order raised image of a large leaf in the centre branching out to form smaller vine leaves with grapes. They have a distinctive panelled border around the rim which immediately identifies them with the Sarreguemines Factory. Two of the plates are marked. The third is unmarked. Circa 1880. Sold as a set of three.

Condition
There are stilt marks on the back of all of the plates. This was done at the time of manufacturing to keep them in place in the kiln during firing. It is not considered damage but is noted. There are two minor flea bites on the back of two plates. They are too small to capture in a photo and are possibly inconsistencies in the glaze which is commonly found on majolica pottery of this period. In overall very good condition for their age.
