Really well made Pieta wood order carving, based off the famous statue by the one and only Michelangelo. It was all hand carved with variety of wood gouges and a mallet, then later was sanded smooth to show off the natural wood grain of the cherry wood.

Makes a great gift and is something that is actually hand made, not just mass produced by some machine which makes it a special piece of original artwork.



This sculpture is about 18 1/2" tall by 7 3/4" wide and has a thickness of about 1". The sculpture can easily be hung on any firmly placed finishing nail angled upward. There is a angle slot in the back of the piece that will accept the nail as well as hold it tight against the wall. It was sealed with many coats of Watco finishing oil, which will give it a good lasting shine over time.



Reflected in the price of this piece is the time it took to make the carving as well as past pieces that have been sold. It is not just a simple copy, it is a one of a kind original piece of artwork.
