Coursing Cougar Study (original order oil on board)

At 5"x7," this original oil on board shows a cougar running under a night sky, with a rolling western landscape loosely rendered in the background. I wanted to try a small nocturne and was tossing around ideas for potential subjects. I found this order old sketch of a cougar mid-run, and since I'm nothing if not lazy, I decided to use it rather than draw out something new. It helps that I really like the sketch. I was actually planning to use it for a much larger work, and since this small study turned out really well, maybe it'll be a big nocturne.
