炭斗 Sumiotori 炭籠 Sumikago
A container for keeping a small supply of charcoal. A tool for adding charcoal to a brazier or furnace.
Sumitori is a vessel used in Sumide Mae, where the master of the house assembles charcoal in the furnace or brazier in front of the guests, and brings it out into the room with an incense container, broom, kama-shiki, links, and fire chopsticks.
