MAINE BLUE TOURMALINE – 7 x 5 Millimeter Oval – Newry Maine – Natural and Untreated - Vintage New Old Stock - Made Between Germany & Maine

Tourmaline is Maine's State Gemstone. It has been mined commercially in the Pine Tree State since 1820. Newry along with Mt Mica are two of the better producers of Tourmaline within the State. Fine examples of Maine Tourmaline are in the Russian Crown Jewels. This gemstone comes from the historic 1972 find order in Newry Maine. This Blue Tourmaline has an amazing medium pastel blue color. This BLUE TOURMALINE weights .71 carats. It has some colorless inclusions that will show up when viewed from certain angles. This gemstone has been SUPER POLISHED. We're using a 21st Century polishing technique to SUPER POLISH Gemstones exceptionally brighter than what is normally seen by the public. Gemstones can look different under different types of light. The redder background images were taken with incandescent house light while the other images used a Daylight LED light source. Sunlight is the best light to view most gemstones. Unfortunately, we rarely have sunlight and blue skies in Maine, so outdoor photos are nearly impossible to take. Our prices are at wholesale. A Gift box is included with this purchase.
