Old Japanese Yamatoku Co. porcelain plate, hand painted in underglaze blue and hand enameled over the glaze, a merchant or artist presents a scroll to a potential customer, microscopic analysis of glaze bubbles shows spaced bubbles in variable sizes, but only a few have turned color with age, so most likely fired in a non electric kiln before 1950, scratches and signs of use, no chips or cracks, there is some missing white glaze on the rim as shown in the photos, but this is not a chip, it is original to the firing, early 20thC?, by the 1920's there was an additional stamp of made in china, the approximate size is 9.5 inches, #9369
