Womens Silk Velvet Shawl With Fringe

One of a kind, hand dyed silk velvet shawl with fringed ends and hand sewn rolled edges. Dyed in beautiful plum and gray tones. A luxurious fabric with an elegant soft drape for dress or casual wear. Lightweight, soft and warm!

This shawl begins as white silk-velvet with a 'burned out' all-over pattern creating a texture called silk devorè, often referred to as "burn-out velvet" or "cut velvet". I first dye the shear background fabric then follow up with a second dye on the all-over pattern to create the watercolor effect.

For best results handwash in cool water. Spritz the fringe with water-diluted hair conditioner to detangle. For the brave, machine wash in order cool water. It may be steam ironed on the reverse side, using a low setting.
