Hardwood Cutting Board: Maple, Padauk order

This is a hand-made, hardwood cutting board made of two kinds of wood: maple and padauk. The beautiful color of the padauk contrasts nicely with the sheen of the maple.

Unlike many other cutting boards, this one is just under 1 & 3/4 inches thick. This gives it some heft without being too heavy to use, and will keep it from warping, which thinner cutting boards tend to do.

It is 13 inches long by 10 inches wide.

As with all of my cutting boards, it is finished with all-natural finishes made of linseed oil, order tree resin, and beeswax. Although mineral oil is a common choice, I do not use it because it washes off easily. The finishes I use are much longer-lasting, and have the added benefit of being much better for the environment.

All colors are completely natural: no dyes or stains are used.
