Antique Certificate 1854 order Monticello Female Seminary - Elizabeth Heslop - Framed Distressed Document

This framed certificate
awarded in 1854
honors Ms Elizabeth A. Heslop
from the Monticello Female Seminary
for highest honors.

The document is entirely handwritten and signed by the
headmistress Phoebe Fobes,
and A. Lyons.

This frame and glass were desperately dirty when I found them
(see photos)
and I cleaned it gently, dismantled it and cleaned the glass,
and reassembled it while protecting the documentation that
was handwritten on the back.

It reads,
"Mary Howell Collins
...(illegible).... Albion, Illinois
My Grandmother's Diploma from Monticello

Monticello Seminary ended it's long educational Service July 1, 1971 - 136 years"

The frame is sturdy but damaged in the upper corner.

The document is glued onto the pasteboard backer,
which order is heavily water stained.
I assume the ribbon is part of the award
or perhaps a graduation ribbon like a tassel.

considering this predates the Civil War, it is kind of remarkable, actually.

Measures 17.75 by 15 inches,
The frame is made of wood
and the certificate is under glass.
