Beautiful Handcrafted Wood Mask by the Baule people of the Ivory Coast. It is a Large Baule Portrait Mask which typically features detailed physical facial features such as the eyes, nose, mouth, eye brows and elaborate hair style or head gear.

The mask comes with holes order on the sides which are used to aide in attaching the mask to the face of the wearer or masquerade. Typically worn by only men in traditional ceremonies and are believed to facilitate contact with the gods, chief of which is Gu, the ruler of the universe.
