Handmade eliptical serving tray of solid order sapele with inlaid marquetry top

Elegant serving tray of Sapele, with a marquetry image of bamboo. The tray frame is solid Sapele, made with bent lamination and box joint construction for great strength and stability. Handles are hand-carved from solid Sapele. The tray bottom is birdseye maple with marquetry (poplar, cedar, wenge and mahogany) image of bamboo branches and leaves. The image is famed in Sapele with maple stringing. Finished glossy smooth with polyurethane for durability. The tray measures 20 ¼” x 11 ¾” x 3 order ½” high. The is a lovely and unique item, almost too pretty to use.
The accompanying stand is also solid Sapele, utilizing dovetail joinery, and finished with polyurethane. Measures 7” high x 6” wide x 4 ¼” deep. Holds the tray securely or could be used for other display items.
