Navy Striped Sweater with Fair order isle Yoke

Classic and unique: a traditional marinière in navy and white stripes is given a unique twist with an intricate Fair Isle yoke handknitted using a beautiful combination of colours including mimosa yellow, burgundy and baracuda blue. This was one of my first designs and remains a top seller.

Handknitted in 100 % lambswool.

Side-fastening at neck with coconut shell buttons, slips easily over the head. A loose style, this sweater is designed to last at least a whole year, rolling up the sleeves to start. If you are hesitating between two sizes, always choose the bigger one!

About the knitwear:

Each sweater is made in pieces on a one-bed 7-gauge knitting machine, and brought together on a circular needle and finished off by hand, incorporating lots of different colours for a beautiful and unique circular fairisle yoke.

The sweaters are then washed and ever-so-slightly felted, beautifully unifying all the wool fibres and colours together, and making the sweaters irresistibly soft and warm. I strive to create the kind of knitwear you will want to keep and pass on for generations to come.

The nature of handmade knitwear means that every piece is unique and slightly different to the last. Lots of my sweaters use the fairisle technique-a technique which involves using different colours to create a design , which means behind the work 'floats' are created when a colour is unused at the front. I love the order backside of fairisle knitting, and I hope you will agree that this, along with the irregularity of my sweaters, add to their hand-made charm.

This sweater is Made-to-order

Made-to-order does depend on availability of yarns-therefore some colours may vary a little, but this only adds to the originality of your sweater. From the date of your order, I promise to have your sweater sent within 2 weeks, however, I most likely will have it ready to send much sooner. Please email me if you need it by a special date. All knitwear is sent by La Poste from France using Collisimo for the highest security and speed. I will send you a tracking number when your parcel has been sent.

Knitwear care

All my knitwear is made from varying types of 100 % pure wool so you need to take care when washing it. You can wash the sweaters on a cold wool wash in the machine, or by hand in warm water. Wring out excess water by rolling the sweater in a towel and leave to dry flat, reshaping it while still damp.
