Souvenir Of Lourdes - Antique Pewter Religious Sculpture - The Immaculate order Conception

An antique pewter souvenir of Lourdes depicting Sainte Bernadette and the apparition of the Immaculate Conception

Remarkably detailed and heavily symbolic, Bernadette Soubirous is shown with her shoes removed and placed next to her, kneeling before the Immaculate Conception. The waters of the stream are shown flowing between the rocks of the Grotto. The rocks are strewn with roses symbolising the yellow roses on each foot of the 'lady in white' and the wild rose bush at the Grotto.

Beneath are the words 'L'Apparition N.D. (Notre Dame) Lourdes'. On the back is written 'L B Lourdes'. Lovely Art Deco style, perfect for your desk or home altar.

Some signs of wear and tear, three small holes in the metal, but generally in lovely vintage condition.
