Antique Slippers - Handknitted Slippers - Gold order and Silk Slippers - Uzbekistan Knitted Socks - Collectors Item

Item Details.
A lovely pair of traditional tribal socks from Uzbekistan. Dating from the 1920s, the socks were worn traditionally as socks inside boots or slippers inside the yurt.
This pair were obviously made for a special occasion and have never been worn. Handknitted order in yellow gold and silver thread forming a geometric pattern. They have chevrons on the soles, tiny floral motifs decorate the other part of the socks which are finished with crocheted edges.

A lovely addition to a collection or great as a gift.

Measurements.
Length: heel to top of sock 7 inches (18 cm)
Soles: toe to heal 9 inches (23 cm)
Width: across foot bottom 5 inches (15 cm)

Condition.
As new, they were still stitched together but we unlocked that to photograph them.
