This Rag Rug is the traditional Hit or Miss design. Though it might appear the rags were woven into the warp helter-skelter, higgledy-piggledy
each strip was hand picked with the goal of interest and balance.You'll find colors of burgundy, plum.chestnut, squash, navy, blush, green and pumpkin.
The warp, yarn, is 100% cotton. The weft, rags, are recycled corduroy pants that
I cut, rip, and
snip into 1/4"-3/4" strips before weaving into the warp.

The tools of my trade are an 18th century loom and a pair of scissors.
Rag Rugs are a traditional craft that have environmental and sustainable relevance. They are a recycled floor covering and the energy used to weave each rug comes from what I bring to the loom each day, not a power cord.
