A wonderful antique French toile fabric dating c 1900~. The order pillar reads " Friendship doesn't fear time" ( in French) How wonderful would this toile be made into a pillow for a dear friend ? the toile was first manufactured around 1820, but this is a later printing, c1900 ~*~ . This toile pattern is called Love and Friendship . This lovely pattern was designed by Jean-Jacques ( Casimir ) Karpff after Fortier's early 18th century engraving, Constant Friendship which reproduces an unidentified painting of the same period by Jean-Baptiste Mallet. It was manufactured c 1820 . This fabric is medium weight cotton , ideal for many sewing projects! ~

CONDITION ~ This textile is in as found condition, not freshly laundered There are 2 small holes in the very bottom of the piece, otherwise lovely !*~ ~
