Fall Periwinkle Wall Quilt in Cream and Orange handmade Thanksgiving decor order 31" x 36"

Handmade Fall Periwinkle Wall Quilt features the traditional Periwinkle or Kites pattern, in a range of orange shaded fabrics. This small quilt would be great used as a chair throw or as wall art by your Thanksgiving table.

Made of all-cotton, high quality fabrics, pieced and quilted by machine.

This is a traditional and well loved quilt pattern, with the orange diamond shapes, sometimes known as Kites, or Periwinkles, each flanked by elongated order cream-on-cream print fabric triangles. Each of the orange diamonds is quilted with a loop inside of it, which creates a four-petalled flower inside the orange motif. Each of the eight-sided cream shapes is quilted in a subtle looping web pattern.

The orange fabrics range from pale sherbet to bright orange to brownish orange. Heavily quilted -- see pictures for detail. The 4" cream outer border is quilted in a double swag pattern. The back of the quilt is orange, yellow and brown woven homespun-style plaid fabric. Quilting is hand-guided, by machine, which gives the quilt an organic handmade look that is not possible with a machine-guided quilting program.

Inside the quilt is a cotton-rich batting. The cream double-fold binding is machine sewn with mitered corners.

Machine wash cold if needed; tumble dry low. I recommend washing the piece separately, with a Shout Color Catcher sheet to keep colors true.
