Gratus order series portrait

This portrait series borrows it's name from the Latin word Gratus, meaning beloved, dear, pleasing or agreeable. Originally, the style of these miniatures is inspired by a series of colonial family portraits from the collection of the Bennington Museum. As time has gone on I have experimented with many genres of portrait painting. I like to make these portraits very custom and put specific details that are meaningful to the person receiving the portrait. You may choose the outfit/costume or leave it up to me. I work from digital photographs.
