Bamboo Leaf 6" x 9" order decorative box.

Sometimes I have to search diligently for the natural objects I use to make our order pieces and sometimes they are very nearby. We took the leaves from my Black Bamboo in front of the studio and used them in a linear way on this small domed box lid. Making impressions of the bamboo leaves was a bit tricky because they are so thin. We solved this by carefully gluing several layers of paper to each leaf then meticulously cutting around the leaf. The box itself is bamboo too. We upturned the corners slightly to give it a bit of a pagoda effect. The box itself is bamboo too. Use it to store keepsakes, jewelry, or Autumn leaves. The 6" x 9" size has interior dimensions of 5 3/8" x 8 3/8" x 2".
