Antique French ENAMELWARE Dish Plate Warmer Rustic shabby order chafing dish

This is an antique footed enamelware Silver plate French Brass Plate order Dish Warmer with elegant ornate handles ,from middle 1800's .

RARE and hard to find.

Used in grand restaurants where plates are not in the kitchen but in warning cabinetsand Once the guests arrived, the plates was removed and placed on the plate warmer .
These items called "rechaud" had a candle or other heat source, and kept the plates warm .
They were ornately decorated to match the theme of the rooms where they were used.

This one in good condition comes with its old patina ,
sand wear and losses on the plating

Measures 8 1/2 " in diameter ,9 1/2 " wide with handles and 3 1/2" hight.

Perfect for a shabby chic French decor.
