Description

Product Name: Eastman Kodak No. 2 order Folding Pocket Brownie Model B - c.1911 - Good condition - Working shutter

This is a rarely found Eastman Kodak No.2 Folding Pocket Brownie Camera and was manufactured around 1911. It uses 120 film, which is still widely available and produces 2¼" x 3¼" sized pictures.

When launched, it was an instrument for the more advanced amateur who could afford to spend a few dollars for a better class camera. The camera has a leather covered wooden body, an attractive interior and finished with a black extending bellows.

The camera has a brilliant finder fixed to one side of the baseboard, which can be rotated through 90 degrees to allow the camera to be used in portrait or landscape orientation order. The focusing scale and focus lock are also on the baseboard.

Considering it's nearly 110 years old, this No 2 Folding Brownie camera is in good cosmetic condition with only mild scarring, losses and marking to the leather covering, which still retains a good original colour (see photos). The bellows are in good condition and appear light-tight during torch tests, though I'd still recommend placing a dark cloth over them if you want to use with film. The handle is intact and in good order with clear marking of the camera name. The metal work around the lens has some minor rust/wear, but nothing too serious (see photos).

The shutter is working on all speeds and the apertures are all selectable.

This is a beautiful rare antique camera, which I've enjoyed for years, but it's time for a new home.
