Description
Wheel-thrown, burnished with terra sigillata, & horsehair fired ceramic vessel.
Approximately 4 3/4" high x 7 1/2" diameter.
In horsehair firing the piece is heated in a propane kiln and removed when red hot. Individual hairs from a horse's tail are then pressed against the piece's surface, resulting in black carbonization markings.
Because this piece is somewhat porous, it should not be used for food or liquids. order
