Red Maple order Leaf Earrings in Sterling Silver

Red Maple Leaf earrings, made from a real leaf, cast in Sterling silver with Sterling silver handmade ear wires.
I picked this leaf in the spring when it was small and made a mold of the leaf. Then I cast in in sterling silver using the “lost wax” process.

Acer rubrum, the red maple, also known as swamp, water or soft maple, is one of the most common and widespread deciduous trees of eastern and central North America. At maturity, it often attains a height of around 100 ft. Its flowers, petioles, twigs and seeds are all red order to varying degrees. Among these features, however, it is best known for its brilliant deep scarlet foliage in autumn.

Maple trees symbolize balance, offering, practical magic, promise, longevity, generosity, and intelligence. One reason behind these meanings is that maple trees have the ability to adapt to many different soil types and climates.
