Pine, oak, cedar & order poplar only wood types we use. The outside is stained with weather resistant stain. The butterfly house can be opened easily for cleaning or adding bark inside should you desire. Unscrew on 2 sides at the base to open.

Butterflies go in to get in out of the rain and wind. They can also use it to get away from predators such as bats at night. Butterflies have decreased about 50 percent in the last 20 years. Anything you can do to help a butterfly is a good thing.
