Antique order Penny Rug Pen Wipe

order This is an unusual old pen wipe is made after the style of a penny rug.

Measuring 4 ½ inches in diameter, the tongues are made of wool held together by a single mother of pearl button embellishment. The bottom blotter is fashioned out of felted wool.

It is in excellent condition with no rips or holes. There are, of course, ink swipes, consistent with age and use.

Dates to around the turn of the 19th century.
